Ek Namak Se Poora Udyog 🧂
Chapter ka aakhri hissa — aur sabse practical. Yahan hum 5 aise rasayan padhenge jo aapke ghar mein roz istemal hote hain. Sabse mazedaar baat? Inme se lagbhag sab, saadharan namak (NaCl) se hi bante hain!
1️⃣ Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) — Chlor-Alkali Process
Namak ke ghol (brine) mein bijli guzaari jaati hai — isse teen kaam ki cheezein ek saath milti hain. Isse chlor-alkali process kehte hain ("chlor" = chlorine, "alkali" = NaOH).
📐 2NaCl + 2H₂O → 2NaOH + Cl₂ + H₂
Kahan kya milta hai:
• Cathode par: hydrogen gas (H₂)
• Anode par: chlorine gas (Cl₂)
• Ghol mein: sodium hydroxide (NaOH)

2️⃣ Bleaching Powder (CaOCl₂)
Bujhe hue chune par chlorine gas guzaarne se banta hai:

Swimming pool ke paas jo khaas "chlorine wali" gandh aati hai, wo bleaching powder / chlorine ki hi hai — jo paani mein bacteria aur keetanu maar deti hai. Bharat mein baarish ke baad gaon ke kuen aur tanki mein bhi bleaching powder daala jaata hai, taaki hazaa (cholera) aur typhoid na phaile.
3️⃣ Baking Soda (NaHCO₃) — Khane Wala Soda
📐 Banane ki reaction (abhikriya):
NaCl + H₂O + CO₂ + NH₃ → NH₄Cl + NaHCO₃
Rasayanik naam: Sodium hydrogencarbonate. Ye ek halka base hai.
Garam karne par ye toot jaata hai aur CO₂ chhodta hai — yahi cake ko phulaata hai:

💡 Baking soda vs Baking powder: Baking soda sirf NaHCO₃ hai. Baking powder = baking soda + ek halka acid (tartaric acid). Isiliye baking powder ko sirf paani chahiye, jabki baking soda ko kisi khatti cheez ki zaroorat padti hai. Agar sirf soda daal do toh cake kadwa lagega — kyunki bacha hua Na₂CO₃ kadwa hota hai!
4️⃣ Washing Soda (Na₂CO₃·10H₂O)
📐 Baking soda ko garam karke sodium carbonate banao, phir usme paani milao:
2NaHCO₃ —Δ→ Na₂CO₃ + H₂O + CO₂
Na₂CO₃ + 10H₂O → Na₂CO₃·10H₂O (washing soda)

Na₂CO₃·10H₂O mein wo "·10H₂O" kya hai? Ye water of crystallisation hai — paani ke wo anu jo crystal ki banawat ka hissa hote hain. Isiliye washing soda sookha dikhne ke bawajood usme paani hota hai! Garam karne par ye paani nikal jaata hai aur crystal bhurbhura (powdery) ho jaata hai.
5️⃣ Plaster of Paris (CaSO₄·½H₂O)
Gypsum ko 373 K (100°C) par garam karne se banta hai:
📐 CaSO₄·2H₂O —373K→ CaSO₄·½H₂O + 1½H₂O
(Gypsum → Plaster of Paris)
Aur paani milane par wapas gypsum bankar kada (set) ho jaata hai:
CaSO₄·½H₂O + 1½H₂O → CaSO₄·2H₂O
⚠️ Board tip: Temperature 373 K se zyada nahi hona chahiye — warna saara paani nikal jaayega aur anhydrous CaSO₄ ban jaayega, jo PoP ka kaam nahi karega. Aur PoP ko hamesha sookhe, band bartan mein rakhte hain — warna hawa ki nami se wo pehle hi jam jaayega.

Bharat duniya ke sabse bade gypsum bhandaron mein se ek hai — khaas kar Rajasthan (Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Nagaur) mein. Isi se desh bhar ke aspatalon ka plaster, cement aur murtiyan banti hain. Jaipur ke mashhoor kalakar PoP se hi Ganesh murtiyan banate hain — halaanki ab paryavaran ke liye mitti ki murtiyon ko badhava diya ja raha hai, kyunki PoP paani mein aasani se nahi ghulta.
