Khatta Aur Kadwa — Do Alag Duniyaein 🍋
Nimbu, imli, sirka, dahi — sab khatte lagte hain. Baking soda, sabun, chuna ka paani — sab kadwe aur chhoone par chikne (soapy) lagte hain. Ye koi ittefaq nahi hai. Khatti cheezon mein acid hota hai, aur kadwi-chikni cheezon mein base.
Jab cheenti (ant) ya bichhoo kaatta hai, toh wo aapki khaal mein formic acid chhod deta hai — isi se jalan aur dard hota hai. Dadi-nani turant baking soda (ek base) ka paste laga deti hain. Kyun? Kyunki base us acid ko neutral kar deta hai, aur jalan turant kam ho jaati hai! Ye ghar ka nuskha asal mein Class 10 chemistry hai.
⚠️ Lab safety: Kisi bhi rasayan ko chakhkar (taste karke) ya haath se chhookar test kabhi mat karo. Lab ke acids-bases bahut tez (concentrated) hote hain aur khaal jala sakte hain. Sirf indicators se test karo.

"Khatta" aur "kadwa" toh bas pehchaan hai. Asli definition ye hai ki paani mein ghulne par wo kaunsa ion chhodte hain:

hai.
Jaise: HCl → H⁺ + Cl⁻

Isiliye kai kitaabon mein acid ki definition mein H₃O⁺ likha hota hai. Dono sahi hain.
⚠️ Bahut important: Acid apna H⁺ ion sirf paani mein deta hai. Sookhe (dry) HCl gas mein H⁺ ions free nahi hote — isiliye sookha HCl litmus paper ka rang nahi badalta! Ye board ka classic sawaal hai.

💪 Strong Aur Weak
Sab acids ek jaise taakatvar nahi hote. Farak isse padta hai ki wo paani mein kitne poori tarah tootkar ions dete hain:

⚠️ Strong ≠ Concentrated! "Strong" ka matlab hai kitna toot'ta hai. "Concentrated" ka matlab hai paani kitna kam hai. Ek strong acid ko bahut paani mein ghol do toh wo dilute ho jaata hai, par rehta strong hi hai.
⚠️ Acid ko paani mein milane ka niyam: Hamesha acid ko paani mein dheere-dheere daalo, aur lagataar hilate raho. Paani ko acid mein KABHI mat daalo — ye reaction (abhikriya) itni exothermic hoti hai ki chheente ud sakte hain aur bura jal sakta hai. Ye niyam board mein bhi poocha jaata hai.
Sulphuric acid (H₂SO₄) ko "King of Chemicals" kaha jaata hai — kisi desh ka sulphuric acid utpadan uske udyog ka paimana maana jaata tha! Bharat mein ye khaad (fertiliser), battery, detergent aur dye banane mein bade paimane par istemal hota hai. Gujarat aur Maharashtra iske bade utpadak rajya hain.
