Jean-Baptiste Lamarck (1744โ1829) ek bade french vaigyanik the. Unhone sabse pehle ye kaha ki jeev samay ke saath badalte hain โ ye soch us zamaane mein bahut bahaduri wali thi. Par unka tareeka galat tha.
Lamarck ka jawab: "Bahut saal pehle zirafon ki gardan chhoti thi. Unhe unche

thodi lambi ho gayi. Phir unhone wo lambi gardan apne bachchon ko de di. Aisa

Galti kahan hai? Kheenchne se gardan ki body cells par asar pada,
par zirafe ke germ cells (sperm/ovum) ke DNA mein koi badlav nahi hua. Toh wo
"kamayi hui" lambai bachche tak pahunch hi nahi sakti thi.
Sahi jawab (Darwin ka): zirafon ki aabaadi mein pehle se hi thodi
variation (vividhata) thi โ kuch ki gardan zara lambi, kuch ki zara chhoti. Jinki gardan lambi
thi wo unche patte kha paaye, behtar zinda rahe aur zyada bachche kar paaye. Peedhi-dar-peedhi lambi
gardan wale gene badhte gaye. Gardan kisi ne "kamayi" nahi โ jinke paas pehle se

khaana bhi tay karta hai. Agar bachpan mein nutrition (poshan) na mile toh koi bachcha apni
poori genetic lambai tak nahi pahunchta.

"nature aur nurture" kaha jaata hai.

Agar acquired trait aage nahi jaate, toh jeevon mein naye trait aaye kaise? Jawab hai: mutation.

Zyadatar mutation ka koi asar nahi hota, kuch nuksaandeh hote hain, aur kabhi-kabhi ek

ek hi base ki galti se hota hai. Jinke paas dono kharab allele

2023 mein "National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission" shuru kiya hai, jiska
lakshya un ilaakon mein ghar-ghar jaanch karna hai. Jaanch karwana samajhdari hai โ
isse pata chal jaata hai ki aap carrier hain ya nahi.
Bharat mein aksar kaha jaata hai ki "padhe-likhe maa-baap ke bachche tez hote hain". Ismein
gene ka hissa bahut kam hai โ asli wajah hai ki aise gharon mein bachchon ko
kitaabein, achhi padhai aur samay milta hai.
Yahi is lesson ka sabse sundar sandesh hai: padhai inherited nahi hai. Koi bhi
bachcha, kisi bhi gaon ya parivaar se, agar use mauka aur achhi shiksha mile, toh sabse aage ja
