Kya Aap Abhi "Ruke" Hue Ho? 🤔
Abhi aap shaayad kursi par baithe ho aur soch rahe ho ki aap rest (aaram) mein ho. Lekin zara socho - prithvi apni dhuri par ghoom rahi hai, aur aap uske saath lagbhag 1600 km/h ki raftaar se ghoom rahe ho! Aur prithvi sooraj ke charon taraf 1,07,000 km/h se bhaag rahi hai.
Toh aap "rest" mein ho ya "motion" mein? Iska jawab hai: ye is baat par depend karta hai ki aap kis cheez ke sapeksh (relative to) dekh rahe ho. Yahi is chapter ki pehli aur sabse important baat hai.
📍 Reference Point (Sandarbh Bindu)
📌 Kisi object ki position batane ke liye humein ek reference point chahiye - ek fixed cheez jiske sapeksh hum position naapein. Ise origin bhi kehte hain.
Jaise agar koi poochhe "school kahan hai?", toh aap kahoge "bus stand se 2 km uttar mein". Yahan bus stand aapka reference point hai.
📌 Rest: Agar samay ke saath object ki position (reference point ke sapeksh)
nahi badalti.
Motion: Agar samay ke saath object ki position badalti hai.
Socho aap chalti train mein baithe ho.
▸ Aapke saath waale yaatri (passenger) ke liye aap rest mein ho -
aapki position unke sapeksh nahi badal rahi.
▸ Lekin platform par khade insaan ke liye aap motion mein ho -
aap tezi se aage badh rahe ho!
Dono sahi hain! Isi liye kehte hain ki motion "relative" hota hai - ye reference
point par depend karta hai.
📏 Distance (Doori) vs Displacement
Ye is chapter ka sabse zaroori aur sabse "confusing" topic hai - lekin ek baar samajh gaye toh bahut aasaan hai. Dono "kitna chale" batate hain, lekin bilkul alag tareeke se:
📌 Distance = object ne kul kitna raasta (path) tay kiya - chahe
kisi bhi disha mein. Ye hamesha positive hoti hai.
Displacement (visthapan) = shuruaati point se aakhri point tak ki seedhi doori
(shortest distance), direction ke saath. Ye positive, negative, ya zero
bhi ho sakti hai!

✔ Example 1 - Seedha raasta:
Ek ladka seedhi sadak par 5 m poorab (east) chalta hai.
Distance = 5 m | Displacement = 5 m (poorab ki taraf).
Seedhe raaste par dono barabar hote hain.
✔ Example 2 - Aage phir peeche:
Ek ladka 5 m poorab jaata hai, phir 3 m paschim (west) wapas aata hai.
Distance = 5 + 3 = 8 m (poora chala hua raasta)
Displacement = 5 − 3 = 2 m poorab (start se end tak seedhi doori)
✔ Example 3 - Round trip (SABSE IMPORTANT!):
Ek ladki ghar se school (2 km) jaati hai aur wapas ghar aa jaati hai.
Distance = 2 + 2 = 4 km
Displacement = 0 (kyunki wo wahin pahunch gayi jahan se chali thi -
start aur end same point!)
Yahi displacement ki sabse khaas baat hai - wo zero ho sakti hai, distance kabhi nahi (jab tak object hile hi na).
✔ Example 4 - Gol chakkar (circular track):
Ek athlete 100 m ke circular track ka ek poora chakkar lagaata hai.
Distance = 100 m | Displacement =
0 (wapas wahin pahuncha).
Aur agar wo sirf aadha chakkar lagaye? Toh distance = 50 m, aur displacement =
circle ka diameter (seedhi doori).

📌 Golden rule: Distance ≥ Displacement (hamesha). Dono barabar tabhi hote hain jab object seedhi line mein, ek hi direction mein chale.
🧮 Scalar aur Vector
Physics mein do tarah ki quantities hoti hain:
- Scalar - jinme sirf maatra (magnitude) hoti hai, direction nahi. Jaise: distance, speed, time, mass, temperature.
- Vector - jinme maatra + direction dono hote hain. Jaise: displacement, velocity, acceleration, force.
Jab Google Maps kehta hai "2.5 km, 8 minute" - wo distance bata raha hai (sadkon wala raasta). Lekin agar aap seedhi hawai doori (straight line) dekho toh wo shayad sirf 1.2 km ho - wahi displacement hai! Isi liye kabhi-kabhi manzil "paas" dikhti hai par pahunchne mein zyada chalna padta hai.
