Carbon Compounds Karte Kya Hain? 🔥
Syllabus ke hisaab se chaar reactions zaroori hain: combustion, oxidation (oxeekaran), addition aur substitution. Aao ek-ek karke dekhein.
1️⃣ Combustion (Jalna)
Saare carbon compounds oxygen mein jalkar CO₂, paani aur bahut saari garmi-roshni dete hain. Yahi wajah hai ki hum inhe eendhan (fuel) ki tarah istemal karte hain.
📐 CH₄ + 2O₂ → CO₂ + 2H₂O + garmi
📐 C₂H₅OH + 3O₂ → 2CO₂ + 3H₂O + garmi
📐 CH₃COOH + 2O₂ → 2CO₂ + 2H₂O + garmi

☠️ Adhura dahan khatarnaak hai: Jab oxygen kam ho, toh CO₂ ki jagah CO (carbon monoxide) banti hai — ek rangheen, gandhheen aur bahut zehreeli gas. Ye khoon ke haemoglobin se oxygen se bhi zyada majbooti se judti hai, jisse shareer ko oxygen milna band ho jaata hai. Isiliye band kamre mein angeethi/coal jalakar kabhi mat soyein — har saal isse jaanein jaati hain. Hamesha hawa aane ki jagah rakhein.
Gas chulhe ki lau peeli ho rahi hai aur bartan kaale pad rahe hain? Iska matlab hai ki burner ke chhed band ho gaye hain aur poori hawa (oxygen) nahi mil rahi — adhura dahan ho raha hai. Wo kaali cheez bina jala carbon (soot) hai. Burner saaf karo, lau wapas neeli ho jaayegi — aur gas bhi bachegi!
2️⃣ Oxidation
Alcohol ko oxidise karne par carboxylic acid ban jaata hai:
📐 CH₃CH₂OH —(alkaline KMnO₄ ya acidified K₂Cr₂O₇)→ CH₃COOH
(Ethanol → Ethanoic acid)
📌 Oxidising agents: Alkaline potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) ya acidified potassium
dichromate (K₂Cr₂O₇).
💜 Mazedaar baat: KMnO₄ ka rang baingani hota hai. Jaise-jaise wo
alcohol ko oxidise karta hai, uska rang gayab hota jaata hai! Isiliye ise
"self-indicator" kehte hain — jab rang aana band ho jaaye, samjho reaction (abhikriya) poori ho
gayi.
3️⃣ Addition Reaction (sirf unsaturated)
Unsaturated compounds ke paas double/triple bond hai — yani "khaali jagah". Wo naye atoms ko jod (add) lete hain aur saturated ban jaate hain.
📐 Vanaspati ghee banana (hydrogenation):
Unsaturated tel + H₂ —(Ni catalyst)→ Saturated ghee
C₂H₄ + H₂ —Ni→ C₂H₆
🫒 Sehat ki baat: Sabziyon ka tel (unsaturated) sehat ke liye behtar hai, kyunki wo dil ki bimari ka khatra kam karta hai. Par hydrogenation se bana vanaspati ghee (saturated) zyada khaane se cholesterol aur dil ki bimari ka khatra badhta hai. Isiliye doctor sarson, moongfali ya olive tel ki salaah dete hain.
🔬 Catalyst: Wo padarth jo reaction ki raftaar badha deta hai par khud reaction mein kharch nahi hota. Hydrogenation mein Nickel (Ni) catalyst hai.
4️⃣ Substitution Reaction (sirf saturated)
Alkanes ke paas jodne ki jagah nahi hai — toh unme atoms ki badli (substitution) hoti hai. Sooraj ki roshni mein methane ke hydrogen, chlorine se badal jaate hain:
📐 CH₄ + Cl₂ —(sooraj ki roshni)→ CH₃Cl + HCl
Aur aage badhta rahega: CH₃Cl → CH₂Cl₂ → CHCl₃ → CCl₄
