Syllabus mein do compounds khaas taur par diye gaye hain — ethanol aur ethanoic acid. Sirf unke gun aur upyog padhne hain.

⚠️ Sehat ki chetavni: Ethanol peene se nervous system dheema ho jaata hai — nasha,
kam judgement, aur lambe samay tak peene se liver kharab ho sakta hai aur
lat (addiction) lag sakti hai.
☠️ Aur methanol (C H₃OH) toh jaanleva hai — bahut kam maatra bhi
andhapan ya maut de sakti hai. Bharat mein har saal "nakli sharab" se hone wali
mautein isi methanol ki wajah se hoti hain. Isiliye industry wale alcohol mein jaan-boojh kar
methanol milakar use denatured (peene layak nahi) bana dete hain, aur pehchaan ke
liye neela rang daal dete hain.
🍶 Ethanoic Acid (CH₃COOH) — Sirka
5-8% ethanoic acid ka paani mein ghol hi sirka (vinegar) hai, jo achaar banane mein istemal hota hai.
Shuddh ethanoic acid ka melting point 17°C hai — yani sardiyon mein wo apne aap barf jaisi jam jaata hai! Isiliye use glacial acetic acid (glacier = barf) kehte hain. Ye board mein poocha jaata hai.
1️⃣ Esterification (alcohol ke saath, meethi gandh wala ester):
CH₃COOH + C₂H₅OH —(acid catalyst)→ CH₃COOC₂H₅ + H₂O
Ester ki gandh phalon jaisi meethi hoti hai — isiliye perfume aur flavour mein use
hote hain!
2️⃣ Saponification (ester + NaOH → wapas alcohol + salt):
Yahi reaction (abhikriya) sabun banane mein use hoti hai.
3️⃣ Base ke saath: CH₃COOH + NaOH → CH₃COONa + H₂O
4️⃣ Carbonate ke saath (CO₂ nikalti hai — ye acid hone ka test hai):
2CH₃COOH + Na₂CO₃ → 2CH₃COONa + H₂O + CO₂
🧼 Sabun (Soap) Kaam Kaise Karta Hai?
Ye poore chapter ka sabse khoobsurat concept hai. Mail (gandagi) aksar tel/chikni hoti hai — aur tel paani mein ghulta nahi. Toh sabun kaise saaf karta hai?
📌 Sabun ke anu ke do sire hote hain:
🚫💧 Hydrophobic (paani se dur bhaagne wala) — lamba hydrocarbon poonch, ye
tel mein ghus jaata hai
💧✅ Hydrophilic (paani ko pasand karne wala) — ionic sira (—COO⁻Na⁺), ye
paani ki taraf rehta hai
Sabun ka anu ek dalal (middle-man) hai jo do dushmanon — paani aur tel — ko milata hai! Uski poonch tel ke andar ghus jaati hai aur sir paani mein rehta hai. Sainkdon sabun ke anu milkar tel ki boond ko gher lete hain — poonch andar, sir bahar. Is gole ko micelle kehte hain. Ab us gole ka bahar wala hissa "paani-dost" hai, isliye wo paani mein tair jaata hai — aur dhone par mail paani ke saath bah jaata hai! Isiliye sirf paani se tel nahi jaata, par sabun se chala jaata hai.
💧 Kade Paani (Hard Water) Ki Samasya
Kade paani mein calcium aur magnesium ke salts ghule hote hain. Sabun in se milkar ek na-ghulne wala safed jhaag/mail bana deta hai — jise scum kehte hain. Isiliye kade paani mein sabun se jhaag hi nahi banta aur kapde theek se saaf nahi hote.

Bharat ke kai ilaakon mein — khaas kar Rajasthan aur Gujarat mein — bhoomigat paani kada (hard) hota hai, isiliye wahan detergent zyada istemal hote hain. Par nadi-talab mein jaate hi non-biodegradable detergent jhaag banate hain aur jaljeevon ko nuksaan pahunchate hain — Yamuna par ye jhaag aksar khabar banta hai. Isiliye aaj kai companies biodegradable detergent bana rahi hain.
