Ek magnet ko lohe ki keel ke paas le jao โ keel khinch kar chali aayegi, bina magnet ke chhue. Do magnet ke ek jaise sire paas laao โ wo haath se hi dhakka mehsoos karaate hain.
Toh beech ki khaali jagah mein aisa kya hai? Wahan kuch dikhta toh nahi. Par kuch hai zaroor โ aur usi ko hum magnetic field kehte hain.
๐ Magnetic field = magnet ke aas-paas ka wo ilaaka jahan uska asar
mehsoos hota hai.
Ye field dikhti nahi, par uska asar dikhta hai โ aur usi asar se hum uska
naksha bana lete hain. Us naksha ki rekhaon ko
magnetic field lines kehte hain.
Compass ki sui hamesha uttar ki taraf kyun ghoomti hai? Kyunki
prithvi khud ek magnet hai โ uske andar pighle hue lohe ke behne se ek bahut bada
magnetic field banta hai.
Aur ek mazedaar ulti baat: compass ka jo sira uttar ki taraf jaata hai use
"north pole (dhruv)" kehte hain. Par magnet mein ulte sire hi khinchte hain! Iska matlab
hai ki prithvi ke bhaugolik uttar (geographic north) ke paas asal mein prithvi ka
magnetic SOUTH pole hai.
Isi field ki wajah se sooraj se aane wale khatarnaak kan prithvi tak nahi pahunch paate โ yani
prithvi ka magnetic field ek dhaal (shield) ki tarah hume bachata hai. Aur wahi kan
jab dhruvon ke paas takraate hain toh aasman mein rangeen roshni banti hai, jise
Aurora kehte hain.
๐ Field Lines Ko Dekho Kaise
Field lines koi kalpana nahi hain โ aap unhe ghar par dekh sakte ho.
Chahiye: ek bar magnet, ek kaagaz ya kaanch ki plate, aur thoda
lohe ka chura (iron filings). Chura nahi hai? Lohe ki cheez ko
reti (file) se ghis kar bana sakte ho.

Ye exam mein bahut poocha jaata hai, aur jawab bahut sundar hai.
Maan lo do lines kisi bindu par kaat gayin. Us bindu par
do tangent banengi โ yani field ki do alag dishaayein.
Par ek hi jagah par rakhi compass ki sui do taraf ek saath kaise ghoomegi? Wo
namumkin hai. Sui hamesha ek hi disha dikhaayegi.
Isliye do field lines kabhi kaat nahi sakti. Ek bindu par field ki sirf
ek disha ho sakti hai.

bachega?
Nahi! Dono tukdon mein phir se N aur S dono aa jaate hain. Aur
unhe phir todo โ phir wahi. Chaahe kitna bhi chhota tukda kar lo.
Wajah: har magnet asal mein karodon bahut chhote magnet ka jamaawada hai, jo sab
ek hi disha mein sajje hue hain. Todne par bas chhote-chhote jamaawade ban jaate hain โ par har ek
ke apne do sire rehte hain.
Isiliye akela magnetic pole (monopole) aaj tak kabhi nahi mila โ aur ye physics ke
sabse bade khule sawaalon mein se ek hai.
Bharat mein magnetic field ka adhyayan bahut purana hai. Alibag (Maharashtra) mein
1904 se ek magnetic observatory chal rahi hai, jo aaj bhi
prithvi ke magnetic field ko lagataar naapti hai โ duniya ki sabse purani lagataar chalne wali
observatories mein se ek.
Ye observatory Mumbai se yahan isliye laayi gayi thi kyunki Mumbai mein
bijli ki trams chalne lagi thin, aur unke current se banne wale magnetic field se
naap kharab ho rahi thi โ yani wahi cheez jo aap is chapter mein padh rahe ho!
Aaj Indian Institute of Geomagnetism is kaam ko aage badhata hai, aur uske aankde
satellite, navigation aur bhukamp ke adhyayan mein kaam aate hain.
