Zyadatar metals prakriti mein shuddh nahi milti โ wo compounds ke roop mein patthar ke andar chhupi hoti hain. Unhe nikaalne, saaf karne aur istemal layak banane ki poori prakriya ko metallurgy kehte hain.

Step 1 โ Concentration (Enrichment)
Ore ke saath mitti-patthar (gangue) mila hota hai. Use hataakar ore ko saaf karna. Iske tareeke: hand-picking, washing, froth flotation (sulphide ores ke liye), magnetic separation.
Step 2 โ Ore Ko Oxide Mein Badalna
Metal nikaalna oxide se sabse aasaan hai, isliye pehle ore ko oxide banate hain:

karna:
2ZnS + 3Oโ โ 2ZnO + 2SOโ

Step 3 โ Reduction (Metal Nikaalna)
Ab oxide se oxygen hataakar shuddh metal nikalti hai. Tareeka metal ki reactivity par depend karta hai:

Sirf garam karke (Hg): 2HgS + 3Oโ โ 2HgO + 2SOโ, phir 2HgO โ 2Hg + Oโ

(kyunki wo zyada reactive hai):

mein kaam aata hai!
Step 4 โ Refining (Shuddhikaran)
Nikli hui metal mein abhi bhi thodi milaawat hoti hai. Sabse aam tareeka hai electrolytic refining:

Bijli chalane par anode se metal ghulti hai aur cathode par shuddh jam jaati hai.

milti hai!
