Liquid Mixtures Ki Baari ๐งด
Pichle lesson mein solid-based methods dekhe. Ab hum liquid-liquid mixtures aur kuch advanced techniques dekhenge. Yahan bhi rule same hai - kaunsa method use hoga, ye components ke physical properties (jaise immiscibility, boiling point, ya solvent mein movement) ke farak par depend karta hai.
๐งด 1. Separating Funnel (Immiscible Liquids)
Kuch liquids aapas mein milte hi nahi (immiscible) - jaise tel aur paani. Wo do alag layers ban jaate hain (bhaari/dense liquid neeche, halka upar). Aise liquids ko separating funnel se alag karte hain.
Method: Mixture ko separating funnel mein daalte hain aur thodi der rukne dete hain, taaki do layers ban jaayein. Phir neeche ka tap (stopcock) khol kar bhaari (neeche wala) liquid nikaal lete hain, aur time par band kar dete hain.
Principle: Immiscibility + density (weight) ka farak.
Example: Tel aur paani alag karna; industry mein oil ko paani se alag karna; loha banane
mein pighla hua loha aur slag alag karna.
โจ๏ธ 2. Distillation (Simple)
Distillation tab use hota hai jab: (a) ek liquid mein ghula solid ho aur humein shudh liquid (solvent) wapas chahiye, ya (b) do miscible liquids jinke boiling points mein bada farak (25ยฐC se zyada) ho.
Method: Mixture ko garam karte hain. Jis liquid ka boiling point kam hai wo pehle vaashp (vapour) banta hai, upar uthta hai, phir condenser (thandi naali) mein jaakar wapas liquid ban jaata hai, jo alag bartan mein ikattha hota hai. Ye shudh liquid hai; peeche baaki cheez reh jaati hai.
Example: Acetone aur paani ko alag karna; namak-paani se shudh paani nikalna; ink se paani alag karna.
๐ญ 3. Fractional Distillation
Jab do (ya zyada) miscible liquids ke boiling points paas-paas hon (farak 25ยฐC se kam), toh simple distillation kaam nahi karti. Tab Fractional Distillation use hoti hai, jisme condenser aur flask ke beech ek fractionating column (kai "steps" wali naali) lagayi jaati hai. Ye column vapour ko baar-baar thanda-garam karke behtar separation deti hai.
Principle: Boiling point ka chhota farak, fractionating column se badha kar use kiya
jaata hai.
Examples (bahut important):
- Hawa se gases alag karna: Liquid air ko fractionally distill karke Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon alag karte hain (industry mein).
- Petroleum (crude oil) refining: Crude oil ko fractional distillation se petrol, diesel, kerosene, LPG jaise alag products mein baanta jaata hai.
Zameen se nikla crude oil (kaala, gaadha) kisi kaam ka nahi hota jab tak use alag na kiya jaaye. Refinery mein fractional distillation se ye petrol, diesel, kerosene, LPG gas, aur tar (sadak banane wala) mein alag hota hai - sab ek hi crude oil se, sirf boiling point ke farak se!
๐จ 4. Chromatography
Chromatography tab use hoti hai jab do ya zyada ghule (dissolved) padarth ek hi solvent mein soluble hon aur hume unhe alag karna ho - jaise ink ke alag-alag rang. Ye is baat par kaam karti hai ki alag components ek surface (jaise filter paper) par alag-alag speed se aage badhte hain.
Method: Filter paper par ink ka ek dot lagao aur paper ka nichla sira paani/solvent mein dubao (dot ko nahi). Solvent upar chadhta hai aur ink ke rangon ko apne saath le jaata hai. Jo rang zyada soluble hai wo upar tak jaata hai, jo kam soluble hai wo neeche reh jaata hai - saare rang alag dikhne lagte hain.
Principle: Alag components solvent mein alag speed/distance travel karte hain.
Examples: Ink ke rang alag karna, patti (leaf) ke pigments (chlorophyll, etc.) alag
karna, food colours test karna, blood/urine test (medical).
Kaali (black) ink asal mein kai rangon ka mixture hoti hai! Chromatography karo toh usmein neela, laal, peela - kai rang alag dikhne lagte hain. Isi wajah se detectives forged (nakli) documents pakde ke liye ink chromatography karte hain!
Kaali ink ke dot ko separate hote dekho - alag-alag rang upar chadhenge!

ORS asal mein ek simple solution hai: paani mein sahi maatra mein namak (salt) aur cheeni (glucose) ghuli hui.
