Mixtures Ko Alag Kyun Karte Hain? π―
Mixtures ko alag karna rozmarra ki zindagi ka hissa hai. Hum aisa karte hain: (1) kisi faaltu ya harmful cheez ko hataane ke liye (jaise chawal se kankad), (2) kisi kaam ki cheez ko paane ke liye (jaise samudra se namak), ya (3) ek shudh (pure) substance paane ke liye.
Yaad rakho - mixtures ke components ko hum hamesha physical methods se alag karte hain (bina chemical reaction ke). Kaunsa method use hoga, ye depend karta hai components ke physical properties ke farak par - jaise size, magnetism, solubility, ya boiling point. Is lesson mein solid-based methods, agle mein liquid-based.
β 1. Handpicking
Sabse simple method - haath se chun kar alag karna. Ye tab use hota hai jab impurity ki maatra kam ho aur particles kaafi bade hon ki haath se uthaye ja sakein.
Principle: Size aur dikhaayi (visible difference) mein farak.
Example: Chawal ya daal se chhote kankad (stones), tinke, ya kharab dane chun-na.
πΎ 2. Threshing & Winnowing
Threshing mein anaaj ke daanon ko unke doothon (stalks) se alag kiya jaata hai (peet-kar). Phir Winnowing mein halke bhuse (husk/chaff) ko bhaari anaaj se hawa ki madad se alag karte hain.
Principle: Weight (bhaar) ka farak - hawa halke bhuse ko door uda deti hai, bhaari anaaj
paas gir jaata hai.
Example: Gehun/dhaan (wheat/paddy) ki kheti ke baad kisan winnowing karke bhusa alag
karte hain.
Winnowing bharat ke gaanvon mein hazaaron saal se hoti aa rahi hai - kisan ek unchi jagah se anaaj girate hain aur hawa halke bhuse ko udaa le jaati hai, bhaari anaaj neeche dher (heap) ban jaata hai. Bina kisi machine ke, sirf hawa aur gravity ka istemaal!
πΈοΈ 3. Sieving (Channa/Chhalni)
Chhalni (sieve) se alag-alag size ke particles ko alag karte hain - chhote particles chhedon se nikal jaate hain, bade upar ruk jaate hain.
Principle: Particle size ka farak.
Example: Aate se choker (bran) alag karna, ret se bade patthar alag karna, construction
mein ret channa.
π§² 4. Magnetic Separation
Agar mixture mein koi ek component magnetic ho (jaise loha/iron), toh use magnet se kheench kar alag kar sakte hain.
Principle: Magnetic vs non-magnetic property ka farak.
Example: Ret aur iron filings ke mixture se loha kheenchna; scrap yards mein loha alag
karna; anaaj se galti se aayi loha ki cheezein hataana.
π¨ 5. Sublimation
Sublimation = kuch solids garam karne par seedhe gas ban jaate hain (liquid banne ke bina), aur thanda karne par wapas solid. Aise "sublimable" solids ko doosre solids se alag karne ke liye ye method use hota hai.
Principle: Ek component sublime hota hai, doosra nahi.
Example: Namak aur ammonium chloride (ya camphor/kapoor, naphthalene)
ka mixture garam karo - ammonium chloride gas bankar upar jaakar thandi surface par phir solid ban jaata
hai, namak neeche reh jaata hai.
Kapoor (camphor) ki tikiya ko khule mein rakho - kuch dinon mein wo chhoti hoti-hoti gaayab ho jaati hai, bina geeli (liquid) hue! Ye sublimation hai - solid seedha gas ban gaya. Naphthalene balls (jo kapdon mein keede bhagane ke liye rakhte hain) bhi aise hi gayab ho jaati hain.
π« 6. Filtration (Chhaan-na)
Jab ek insoluble solid (jo ghula nahi) kisi liquid mein mila ho, toh use filter paper (ya kapde) se chhaan kar alag karte hain. Solid paper par ruk jaata hai (residue), liquid neeche nikal jaata hai (filtrate).
Principle: Particle size - solid ke particles filter ke chhedon se bade hote hain.
Example: Chai ki patti ko chai se alag karna (chhanni), ret ko paani se alag karna,
doodh se malai (chhanni se).
βοΈ 7. Evaporation (Vaashpeekaran)
Jab ek soluble solid (jo ghul gaya) liquid mein ho, toh filtration kaam nahi karega (solid chhota hai). Iske bajaye hum liquid ko garam karke uda (evaporate) dete hain, aur solid peeche reh jaata hai.
Principle: Liquid (solvent) evaporate ho jaata hai, ghula hua solid nahi.
Example: Samudra ke paani se namak banana - paani ko dhoop mein uda
dete hain, namak peeche reh jaata hai. Ink se ghula rang alag karna.
Gujarat aur Tamil Nadu ke tateey (coastal) ilaakon mein bade "salt pans" (namak ke khet) hote hain. Samudra ka paani in kheton mein bharkar dhoop mein chhoda jaata hai; paani uda jaata hai aur safed namak reh jaata hai. Bharat duniya ke sabse bade namak utpaadak deshon mein se ek hai - sab evaporation se!
π 8. Crystallisation
Crystallisation evaporation se behtar tareeka hai shudh (pure) solid paane ka - ismein solid saaf, shining crystals ke roop mein milta hai. Method: solute ka garam saturated solution banao, phir dheere-dheere thanda karo - thanda hone par solubility kam hoti hai aur shudh crystals bahar aa jaate hain (impurities solution mein reh jaati hain).
π Crystallisation, Evaporation se behtar kyun?
βΈ Evaporation mein kuch solids garmi se kharab ho sakte hain; crystallisation mein nahi.
βΈ Evaporation se mili solid mein impurities reh sakti hain; crystallisation shudh crystals deti hai.
Example: Ganda/impure copper sulphate (neela thotha) ko purify karna, cheeni ke crystals banana, phitkari (alum) ke crystals ugana.
Garam paani mein khoob saari cheeni (ya phitkari) ghulaakar saturated solution banao. Usme ek dhaaga (thread) latka do aur solution ko kuch dinon tak shaanti se rakho. Dhaage par sundar bade crystals ug aayenge! Ye crystallisation ka mazedaar experiment hai.
π 9. Centrifugation
Jab particles itne chhote hon ki filter paper se nikal jaayein (jaise colloid/suspension), toh unhe tezi se ghumakar (spin) alag karte hain. Bhaari particles neeche baith jaate hain, halka liquid upar reh jaata hai. Is machine ko centrifuge kehte hain.
Principle: Tez spinning se bhaari particles bahar/neeche ki taraf phenke jaate hain
(density ka farak).
Examples:
- Doodh se cream/malai alag karna (dairy mein).
- Khoon (blood) se cells aur plasma alag karna (labs mein).
- Washing machine ka "spin/dryer" - kapdon se paani nikaalta hai (yahi principle!).
- Ghar par dahi ko mathkar makkhan (butter) alag karna.
Jab aap blood test dete ho, lab mein khoon ko ek centrifuge mein tezi se ghumaaya jaata hai. Isse laal cells neeche baith jaate hain aur upar saaf peela plasma alag ho jaata hai - jise test ke liye use kiya jaata hai. Ye centrifugation ki asli medical application hai!
