Atom Ka "Aadhaar Card" šŖŖ
Har insaan ka ek unique Aadhaar number hota hai. Waise hi, har element (tatva) ke atom ke do khaas numbers hote hain jo uski poori pehchaan batate hain: Atomic Number (Z) aur Mass Number (A). In do numbers se hum kisi bhi atom ke andar protons, neutrons aur electrons ki sankhya nikaal sakte hain.
š¢ Atomic Number (Z) - "Element Ka Naam"
š Atomic Number (Z) = Nucleus mein protons ki sankhya.
Aur kyunki neutral atom mein protons = electrons hote hain, Z = electrons ki sankhya
bhi (neutral atom mein).
Atomic number sabse important hai kyunki yahi decide karta hai ki atom kaunsa element hai. Agar protons badal gaye, toh element hi badal gaya:
- 1 proton (Z=1) ā Hydrogen
- 6 protons (Z=6) ā Carbon
- 8 protons (Z=8) ā Oxygen
- 11 protons (Z=11) ā Sodium
Koi bhi atom, jiske paas 6 protons hain, hamesha Carbon hi hoga - chahe uske neutrons ya electrons kuch bhi hon. Isi liye atomic number ko element ka "naam" kaha ja sakta hai.

š Mass Number (A) = Protons + Neutrons (dono nucleus mein hote hain, inhe milkar
"nucleons" kehte hain).
Electrons ka mass na ke barabar hota hai, isliye unhe mass number mein nahi ginte.

ā Example 1 - Sodium (Na), Z = 11, A = 23:
Protons = Z = 11
Electrons = Z = 11 (neutral atom)
Neutrons = A ā Z = 23 ā 11 = 12
ā Example 2 - Oxygen (O), Z = 8, A = 16:
Protons = 8, Electrons = 8, Neutrons = 16 ā 8 = 8.
ā Example 3 (reverse) - Ek atom mein 17 protons aur 18 neutrons hain. Z aur A?
Z = protons = 17 (ye Chlorine hai!). A = protons + neutrons = 17 + 18 = 35.

- Pehla letter hamesha CAPITAL hota hai (H, O, C).
- Agar do letters hon, toh doosra letter small hota hai (He, Na, Cl, Mg).
- Kuch symbols element ke Latin naam se aate hain:
